Shariah Supervisory Board

The Shariah Supervisory Board here at Ethical Insurance is the heart of our product development and application and to this end Ethical Insurance have secured the services of qualified Shariah Scholars, who will provide all Shariah advisory services pertaining Ethical Insurance’s Islamic insurance business and programme. The Shariah advisors do not hold any executive function within Ethical Insurance, they remain independent and impartial. The Shariah Supervisory Board will act independently and advise on Shariah matters relating to the activities of Islamic insurance. The Shariah advisors will carry out a supervisory role of Ethical Insurance in relation to its Islamic insurance activities, ensuring that all the applicable Shariah principles, rules, pronouncements are correctly applied. A function of the Shariah advisor is to carry out an annual Shariah audit of Ethical Insurance’s activities relating to Islamic insurance and of each participating Islamic ‘window’ of subscribing conventional insurers to ensure continued compliance and issue a certificate of Shariah compliance to that effect.
